Spirit Airlines extends flight credit validity

Wednesday, 04 Jun, 2024 0

Low cost carrier Spirit Airlines is making more changes to improve the overall customer experience.

The airline recently announced it was ending the hated fees for flight changes and cancellations.

Now, it is increasing the upper weight limit for checked bags to 50 pounds.

This is up from 40 pounds when excess bag fees kicked in.

Spirit said it is also extending the validity of flight credits to 12 months.

This is for new vouchers issued as of June 3, 2024.

These enhancements provide our guests flexibility and peace of mind, and it’s just the beginning to make affordable travel easier and more seamless than ever,” says Chief Commercial Officer Matt Klein.

“This will lead the way to a new era of low-fare, high-value flying.”

Flight credits expired after just 90 days.
