Stansted hails record-breaking February
London Stansted celebrated another record-breaking month for passenger traffic in February.
More than 1.92 million passengers passed through the terminal during February, beating the previous record set in February 2020 by nearly 50,000.
More than 360,000 passengers flew out for a sunshine, city or ski break during the half-term holiday alone.
Winter holidaymakers flocked to the Canary Islands, Southern Spain, Turkey, and Dubai, the airport says.
For February ski holiday flights, the top choices were to Geneva, Chambery, Grenoble, Turin, Innsbruck, and Zurich.
Holiday flights to European cities such as Dublin, Edinburgh, Istanbul and Barcelona were also popular.
Demand was also high for inbound travel.
The airport is now gearing up for the Easter holiday, one of the busiest times of the year.
Jonathan Fowler, London Stansted’s COO, said: “It’s been a really strong start to the year, and we’re certainly not seeing any let-up ahead to the upcoming Easter break.”
