Star Clippers plans longer voyages
Star Clippers is to increase the number of longer cruise holidays next summer.
The programme for each of Star Clippers’ three tall ships for next summer and winter 2005-06 has just been released.
Royal Clipper will spend summer 2005 based in Civitavecchia for Rome and will commence sailings on May 14 with seven-night voyages to Ponza, Sorrento, Capri, Amalfi, Taormina and Lipari.
The ship will then revert to a programme of 10 and 11-night sailings to and from Venice and until October 5 covering Capri, Lipari, Taormina, Corfu, Dubrovnik, Korcula, Hvar, Losinj and Pula.
Star Clipper will continue to offer alternating seven-night voyages from May 14 to October 8 and will add two 11-night cruises and two 10-night sailings from Cannes. The new longer voyages will see the ship go beyond its regular calls in Corsica and Sardinia to continue through to Sicily, the Aeolian islands, Sorrento and Capri.
The company’s third ship, Star Flyer, will continue seven-night sailings on two alternating routes around the Greek Islands and Turkish mainland resorts. It will feature two sailings from Athens to Istanbul and back on May 28 and September 10 each of seven or 14 nights duration.
All three ships will offer seven-night voyages next winter with Royal Clipper based in Barbados, Star Clipper in St. Maarten and Star Flyer in Phuket.
Star Clippers’ senior vice-president Anjie McFarlane said: “We will be increasing longer voyages next summer with Royal Clipper, introducing them into Star Clipper’s programme alongside seven-day voyages out of Cannes next summer and continuing seven and optional 14-day sailings of Star Flyer between Athens and Istanbul.
“Clearly, many of our passengers want to spend longer on their holidays than just one week so we are happy to offer what they want.”
