Stena Line revolutionises agents’ bookings as website proves huge ‘hit’
Stena Line’s recently launched on-line booking site www.stenalineagent.com, has been heralded an enormous success as over 550 agents sign up in less than 4 weeks.
Since its launch on the 17th June, the site, which is one of the most advanced on-line booking systems in the industry, has met with a great response from agents cutting down booking time by up to 50%.
Brian Thornton, Manager from Tara Travel comments:
“The on-line scheme has been an absolute blessing during this summer’s busy booking period. It’s a very easy system to use and definitely saves us lots of time. More importantly though, it has increased customer satisfaction as we can give prices, quotes and confirmation almost immediately”.
In conjunction with the launch, Stena Line has been rewarding agents who book via the system, with a variety of prizes, ranging from Karaoke machines to mobile phones and CD players to short breaks. The competition has proved a huge success with agents such as Lonsdale Travel who have already reported four CD player winners in just one office. Stena Line has therefore announced the extension of the competition from the end of July until the end of August.
Wendy Hartley, Head of Sales GB for Stena Line comments:
“We’re delighted with the response we’ve had from agents, and we’re seeing in excess of 100 new registrations every week. The increase in repeat bookings confirms that the site is easy to use, which is exactly what we wanted to achieve, and cuts down on time spent by agents trying to get through to call centres at this busy selling time”.
Agents have been provided with training support via the recent Stena Line ‘Hit Squad’ blitz of over 1,000 travel agents. The aim of Stena Line’s ‘Hit Squad’ was to help the travel trade capitalise on Stena Line’s lucrative late bookings market which last year saw a massive 65% of all bookings made in July and August, worth over £2 million.
