Stowaway survives international flight hidden in landing gear

A 26-year-old man sneaked into the landing gear of a flight from Guatemala and survived the journey to Miami as a stowaway. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said US Customs and Border Protection apprehended the man on the tarmac and transported him to a local hospital for medical treatment.
He hid on an American Airlines flight. The carrier is cooperating in the investigation.
He had ‘attempted to evade detection in the landing gear compartment of an aircraft’ a CBP statement said.
