Taiwan scraps international cruise ship ban
Taiwan’s Maritime and Port Bureau has officially lifted the ban on international cruises
The ban was introduced in February 2020.
It comes after Taiwan ended mandatory quarantine for all foreign arrivals earlier this month.
The Central Epidemic Command Center approved new rules for cruises which are based on similar protocols introduced by the EU, the US and Australia, when they restarted cruise operations.
Guests would require a negative rapid Covid-19 test taken before or on the day of arrival in Taiwan, it said.
All passengers would be required to show an up-to-date Covid vaccine status and are advised to have travel insurance that covers overseas medical care.
