Thomas Cook partners with WAYN
Thomas Cook UK & Ireland is to sponsor the travel section of travel and social website WAYN.com (Where Are You Now?).
WAYN claims 1.6 million UK users and is attracting around 300,000 new users a month.
Under the partnership, Thomas Cook becomes the sole sponsor of WAYN’s travel section, within the new WAYNClub area of the site.
The section features travel deals exclusive to Thomas Cook, which have been chosen to appeal specifically to WAYN members.
When clicked, these link to a special section on Thomascook.com specifically tailored for WAYN members. Typical offers for the travel page are city breaks, flight-only deals and holidays to Goa, Cuba and the Dominican Republic.
Thomas Cook is also offering competition prizes through some of its sub-brands to encourage new members to the site. These include a Club 18-30 holiday for two, and a three-night trip to Las Vegas with Flexibletrips.
These prizes form part of a TV advertising campaign to be screened in late March. Thomas Cook will also benefit from display ads across the WAYN site.
Thomas Cook e-commerce director Andy Tidy said: “WAYN is already huge in terms of the number of its members, and it is set to grow substantially in the coming months.
“As a major website with a travel theme, it’s an ideal fit with Thomas Cook, and gives us the perfect platform to showcase the huge range of product we offer.
“Thomascook.com is far from just package holidays – it’s a complete online retailer offering flights, hotel only, UK breaks and more.
“There is huge potential and we are excited to be the first travel organisation to link with such a major online community.”
WAYN’s marketing director Annika Erskine said: “Thomas Cook was the natural fit for us in terms of being able to provide special discounts and benefits for our new WAYNClub section of the site, that will appeal to the wide range of our member’s preferences.”
