Tigerair Australia and Flight Centre Travel Group have announced a three-year strategic partnership to market the carrier’s fares and products to Flight Centre customers nationwide.
It marks a subtle change in direction for Tigerair away from its core online direct sell business model, said Tigerair Australia CEO Rob Sharp.
"We are now working with a number of travel agents where it makes commercial sense, which is particularly important for our new Bali services commencing March 23 2016. Tigerair’s great value fares have been proven to stimulate and grow the air travel market in Australia and we see this partnership as win-win for both companies," Sharp said.
Tigerair has now set up a dedicated agency support team to assist travel agent and will soon introduce a real time live chat function for agents.
"The new look Tigerair is now delivering on all fronts. It’s a fantastic product that will provide Flight Centre customers with more value and choice than ever before," added Sharp.
Flight Centre agents will have access to all Tigerair fares and optional add-on products.
Graham Turner, Flight Centre group CEO said: "Tigerair has developed a solid presence on domestic and soon international routes and its offering has become an attractive proposition for our leisure and corporate travel customers. We look forward to working more closely with Tigerair to grow the market."
