Titan Travel confirms move to CAA trust accounting

Monday, 14 Oct, 2020 0

Titan Travel has confirmed its move to trust accounting with the Civil Aviation Authority to give agents and their clients ‘additional financial assurance’ when booking with the operator.

The escorted touring operator said the terms of the trust – administered by an independent trustee – provides assurance that all money from new and existing bookings will be held securely and ‘will generally not be transferred to Titan until the customer has returned from holiday’.

Titan Travel Managing Director Andy Squirrell said: "Whilst customer money has always been 100% secure with Titan, moving to trust accounting will provide agents and their clients with additional financial reassurance when booking a holiday with us."

"This is another example of how we are constantly reviewing our operations and implementing new policies where necessary to help provide agents and their clients with the very best service. We hope this will provide everyone with assurance that booking with Titan is booking with confidence, knowing that our tours, finances, and the safety and wellbeing of all our travellers are protected every way possible."

In the event Titan Travel is unable to operate a scheduled tour, it said all funds will remain intact and will be used to refund travellers as required.

Overseen by the CAA, Titan’s trust accounting is only available on holidays that include a flight.

Titan’s UK short breaks and no-fly cruises will not be included in the scheme, but will continue to be protected by ABTA.
