Wholesale travel broker Tourico Holidays reported a 300% year-over-year jump in gross revenue in car rental sales in 2015.
The company cites its global network of direct connect partnerships, present in more than 100 countries, for the sharp increase in business.
Tourico’s direct connect trade clients can search in real-time for available vehicles on a map and filter by individual supplier, vehicle type, or in-car amenities.
"Tourico has direct connect car rental partnerships in more than 100 different countries and our distribution clients are afforded real-time availability and prices that only a high-volume buyer can secure," said Ofir Cohen, executive vice president of strategic development.
"I think the results of our improved car rental sector speak for themselves. The more product that gets sold through our channels, the more car rental companies realize the value that we can bring to their business."
Tourico has existing direct connect partnership with Hertz, Avis-Budget Group, Sixt, and Enterprise Holdings’ brands.
The company also announced the appointment of car rental industry veteran Konni Marshall as its new vice president of business development for car rentals.
Marshall previously spent 27 years with The Hertz Corporation.
