Travel agency wound up for failing hundreds of holidaymakers
A travel agency has been wound up after leaving nearly 300 customers out of pocket.
Felix Travels and Tours Limited (FTT), which traded as Felix Holidays was shut down at the High Court, owing almost £600,000 in refunds and other costs.
It abruptly cancelled holidays and failed to return their money.
The travel agency sold flights, accommodation, and other travel products like theme park tickets s and ski passes.
Insolvency Service investigator Cheryl Lambert called Felix Travels and Tours’ business practices ‘objectionable.’
“It left us with no option but to apply to have the company wound-up to protect customers in the future.”
FTT set up as a travel agency in April 2020 with a Sri Lanka call centre.
It offered payment plans to spread the cost of holidays.
Those who paid up front in full also had issues with their package holidays including finding accommodation wasn’t booked and last minute cancellations.
The agency also falsely told customers that they were covered under ATOL.
