Travel chaos in Japan as typhoon shuts down trains and planes
AÂ strong tropical storm battered parts of central and west Japan, causing power cuts and travel disruption.

There were sustained winds of up to 90 kph across central areas as it moves toward Hokkaido.
There were reports over 20Â people were injured.
Tottori and Okayama prefectures were hardest hit on Tuesday.
The big two carriers, Japan Airlines and All Nippon Airways canceled over 500 flights, impacting about 50,000 travellers.
Central Japan Railway and West Japan railway cancelled bullet trains.
It is a main holiday period which has compounded the disruption.
The Japan Meteorological Agency issued a heavy rain warning for Tottori Prefecture for Wednesday.
About 600 travellers were stranded at Osaka Airport.
It is situated on an artificial offshore island with the access road cut off during the storm.
