Travel Counsellors in major recruitment drive
Travel Counsellors claims it has seen a 58% increase in new recruits since the start of the year and a 10% rise in those returning to travel following career breaks.
As a result, the homeworking agency, which has more than 700 agents in the UK and more than 400 overseas, is launching a series of recruitment roadshows across the UK throughout June and July.
It said many agents were attracted by the financial security it offered as Travel Counsellors was one of the first organisations to be recognised by the Civil Aviation Authority as an accredited body under the new Flight Plus regime.
Managing director Steve Byrne said many agents were confused by the recent ATOL changes, with some larger agencies struggling to become accredited on behalf of their members. Some independent agencies were facing hefty costs to obtain their own Flight Plus licences, he said.
"It has always been paramount to us that we support and protect our agents and their customers," added Byrne. "We launched our customer Trust in 2004 in order to ensure that our agents could provide a full financial guarantee to their customers, which meant that we were best placed to meet all the requirements for full accreditation when the flight-plus scheme was introduced."
Travel Counsellors is reporting a 10% increase in sales since the start of the year.
