Travel Counsellors launches responsible travel campaign
Travel Counsellors has announced the launch of a new Responsible Travel campaign.
To mark Earth Day, the year-long campaign aims to educate both the Travel Counsellor community and customers on responsible travel.
A dedicated microsite platform provides information on more sustainable destinations and hotels, and highlights the ways to support local communities.
The new platform launches as Travel Counsellors works toward its pledge to halve its own carbon footprint by 2030.
Through working with accommodation providers within its in-house booking platform Phenix, Travel Counsellors has already launched and identified its own accredited ‘Green Leaf’ properties.
These have met the standard of sustainability recognised by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council.
This credential means the hotel has worked to maximise its social and economic benefits.
This is promoted and searchable within Phenix and gives Travel Counsellors the chance to present more responsible travel options.
It is also working with partner Trees4Travel, enabling Travel Counsellors to help clients calculate and offset their emissions.
Dave Callan, Customer Director, said: “This campaign will not only arm our Travel Counsellors with the right tools, but will add value to the growing sustainability needs of our customers.’
A recent poll carried out by Travel Counsellors found that nearly 90% of customers are interested in travelling more sustainably.
