Travel Foundation Still Seeking Industry Manager
Due to their continued expansion, the Travel Foundation is still looking to employ an Industry Programmes Manager to join their executive team in Bristol.
Initial responses did not include as many candidates as the Foundation had hoped.
The Industry Programmes Manager will be responsible for developing and delivering strategies to ensure that our activities meet the needs of the industry and, provide them with the resources to facilitate the integration of sustainability into core business practices.
A minimum of of 5 years experience working at a managerial level within the UK outbound travel industry is required., Plus demonstrable skills in strategy development and delivery. A creative thinker, plenty of initiative and the ability to prioritise and work with minimum supervision to strict deadlines are also essential, as is the ability to communicate and build relationships with people at all levels. An understanding of sustainable tourism issues and change management would be an advantage, say the Travel Foundation.
Responsibilities include:
• Building close relationships and acting as the primary liaison point for Responsible Tourism Managers within travel companies
• Developing an understanding of key impact points within the companies to facilitate the development of effective change strategies
• Producing tailored plans for each major travel industry partner
• Developing an on-going mechanism for identifying needs as companies develop their sustainable tourism programmes & expertise
• Working with the Programmes Officer (industry) and external suppliers to develop and deliver practical tools and other projects to meet industry needs
• Developing strategies to ensure widespread dissemination and implementation of tools within the industry
• Putting in place monitoring & evaluation mechanisms to measure the effectiveness of TF activities in facilitating change within the industry
• Managing the industry tools and training budget
• Working with the Programmes Manager to ensure industry participation in destination projects.
• Liaising with the Head of Corporate Partnerships to ensure TF activities meet fundraising priorities
• Overseeing the work of the Programmes Officer (industry) and providing support and guidance
The salary offered is £38,000 pa.
