Travel Mole announced as a TRAVELtech media partner for key August 22 event

Saturday, 03 Aug, 2006 0

TRAVELtech, Australia’s leading online travel marketing and distribution conference, today announced that TravelMole has become a media partner, joining major event sponsor Mondial Assistance, and other key supporters including Tourism Technology, Hitwise, GoQuo, 24/7 Real Media, Premiere Global, Yahoo! Search Marketing, Google and Micros Fidelio.

Director Martin Kelly said industry support is strong with just over 200 high-profile delegates already registered for the fast-paced, one-day conference and exhibition in Sydney on August 22 (including many of Australia’s leading online travel executives) offering excellent networking, business development and learning opportunities.

This year’s theme is Power To The People, a nod to the amazing rise of web businesses (think – TripAdvisor.com, flickr.com, myspace.com) that give their “community” the ability to interact with each other, swapping everything from pictures to travel tips.

However, while taking a good hard look at this new phenomenon and its relevance to the Australian industry, TRAVELtech will also address the pressing, day-to-day concerns of travel marketing and distribution professionals.

The program is packed with expert speakers from industry leading companies such as Jetstar, Virgin Blue, Accor Asia Pacific, Jetset Travelworld, Hitwise, M & C Saatchi, Tourism Australia, Creative Holidays, Lonely Planet, Yahoo!7, Expedia and Webjet.

Topics include Web 2.0, Online Retail, Hotel Distribution, Destination Marketing, Low Cost Carriers, Web Shopping Habits, and Digital Marketing.

There’ll also be a case study on the infamous ‘Where The Bloody Hell Are You’ viral campaign by Tourism Australia.

Kelly said TRAVELtech paying delegates will also receive a free Hitwise analysis of their travel industry sector, plus a Mondial Assistance USB Memory Stick loaded with the video results of interviews undertaken this week on consumer attitudes to booking online travel. TRAVELtech costs $475 + gst. Bookings and further details are available at www.traveltechasiapacific.com.

The Mole will be providing insights on TravelTech speakers right up to the Conference.
