TripAdvisor’s Viator launches new travel agent booking program
New platform offers travel agents direct, immediate access to book over 80,000 commissionable tours and attractions
NEEDHAM, Mass. – SEPTEMBER 27, 2017 – TripAdvisor’s Viator today announced the launch of its Travel Agent Program (TAP), a new booking platform created specifically for travel agents.
Agents can now book directly through Viator, gaining direct, immediate access to the world’s largest selection of more than 80K commissionable tours and attractions, including TripAdvisor and Viator’s VIP, Exclusive and Skip the Line products. An inclusive platform, TAP extends registration options to both host agencies and independent agents. Since testing began last month, thousands of agents have created accounts and directly booked experiences for their clients.
"For the first time, we’re giving travel agents direct access to our entire database of attractions – everything for every type client can be found here in one place," said Ben Drew, Head of Growth, Viator. "We’re aiming to make the travel agent booking experience as seamless as possible. We plan to incorporate feedback from early adopters as we continue to evolve the program and help travel agents around the world grow their businesses."
Offering an eight percent sales commission, TAP caters to a global travel agent audience, allowing for multiple currencies, along with monthly reporting to allow easy analysis of sales and commissions. Registered agents will also have access to a resource center with helpful tips and content, including agent training, product knowledge development and destination guides to increase industry knowledge and in turn, their bottom lines.
"Not only are we providing agents a platform to make it easier for them to book tours and activities, but we’re also investing in the education and product knowledge to help them be successful in selling attractions," said Drew.
Agents can now join the program without any fees or restrictions to book as an individual, a host agency, or member of host agency and receive direct commission from Viator, without third-party payment distribution.
