Triton to tap into cruise sales
A Triton Cruise Advisor training programme has been established as the group seeks to increase sales from the booming sector
The initiative is designed to help agents in the Advantage, Worldchoice and Global Travel Group to become even more expert in the sector.
The Cruise Advisor programme has been established with a number of cruise lines and consists of three courses focusing on different aspects of the cruise market from marketing and sales through to itineraries and types of ship.
The cruise operators involved are Complete Cruise Solution, Fred Olsen, Costa, Holland America Line, Royal Caribbean, Hurtigruten, Silversea, Norwegian Cruise Line and Orient Lines.
The first course, ‘Cruise Know How’, focuses on the variety of cruises available, the different styles and itineraries on offer, and how agents can target these to specific customers.
The second session, ‘Cruise Marketing’ advises agents on how to build their cruise business by promoting this type of holiday, including successful tips for holding cruise evenings and running cruise clubs.
The third course offers agents an advanced level of cruise training. Topics covered include unusual destinations and itineraries.
Triton said pilot sessions have already been over-subscribed, underlining the vast demand among agents for increasing their cruise knowledge.
Triton and Worldchoice director Barbara Collins said: “There has been a huge boom in the cruising sector over the past few years, and with this programme, agents will be able to really concentrate on how they can maximise sales and build new business.
“As well as maintaining existing cruise customers, agents will have greater confidence when it comes to introducing this type of holiday to new clients.
“By combining tailor-made training with marketing initiatives we will be able to equip our agents to compete in the fastest growing area of travel.”
