TUI unveils Travelmood, a trade-only brand
TUI-owned Specialist Holidays Group is to launch a dedicated trade only brand, Travelmood, later this month.
The travel giant said the agent-only site will compete on price against ‘like for like’ brands, and will have one of the ‘technologically advanced flexible’ search functions.
TUI is also promising agents an ‘outstanding’ end-to-end contact centre and exclusive contracts and offers across 55 long-haul destinations worldwide.
The operator will launch a new incentive scheme, set up a new Facebook page for the trade, and will deny access to direct customers.
"The trade is an extremely important part of our business and for some time we have been considering how we might strengthen the service we offer to our trade partners", said Lesley Rollo, managing director for Travelmood.
"We have more than 60 years of experience in selling long haul holidays and over the last couple of years we have seen great success in the technology we are now using.
"Both of these attributes are continuously recognised by the trade and it has been the positive comments from agents which have been a key driving factor to take it one step further in launching Travelmood.
"Travelmood will deliver a high performance product to the trade without the need for its customers to then check online."
Alongside the website, dedicated Travelmood brochures will be distributed to the trade.
First up will be a multi-centre brochure and a dedicated USA brochure, with other brochures planned for later in the year to include Dubai and Beyond, Best Beaches and Ultimate Bucket List.
TUI said all the brochures were inspired from direct agent feedback.
A new expanded trade sales team will visit up to 40 independent agents during November and December to showcase the new brand.
TUI has also created a new position of business development manager to solely look after independent agents.
