Turkey starts mass vaccination of all travel and tourism workers
As part of its Safe Tourism Program, Turkey has begun the vaccination of tourism workers in coordination with The Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Ministry of Health and Turkey’s Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA).
It expects all tourism workers will be vaccinated before the beginning of 2021 summer season.
This includes employees at airlines, airports, accommodation suppliers, travel agencies as well as professional tour guides.
It aims to welcome international travellers for the upcoming summer season while safeguarding the health and safety of tourism industry employees and residents.
Turkey launched the Safe Tourism Certification Program in June 2020 and is continuing to invest in the program.
Certification is compulsory for accommodation facilities with 30 or more rooms. More than 8,000 facilities have been certified so far.
