Turkish Airlines unveils new NDC platform

Turkish Airlines has unveiled its upcoming New Distribution Capability (NDC) platform, TKCONNECT.

Starting from 1 October 2024, TKCONNECT will give travel agents a more tailored marketplace, with differentiated products and services.

Advantages for travel agencies include a wide range of exclusive features, differentiated ticket pricing, NDC only promotional fares, along with rich content.

Agents will also be able to add ancillary services such as excess baggage and seat selection.

Ahmet Olmustur, Turkish Airlines Chief Commercial Officer, said: Our new distribution capability platform will be an important milestone to enhance the customer experience and support commercial partners.

“Turkish Airlines provides TKCONNECT to our business partners and travel agencies with advanced technology in a user-friendly way.”

The system is offered as three alternative options to meet the needs of each trade partner.

TKCONNECT Direct offers instant fare, inventory and additional service opportunities with direct access to Turkish Airlines content via IATA-certified NDC APIs.

TKCONNECT via Aggregator is an integration point to Turkish Airlines products and services provided by certified technology partners.

TKCONNECT User Interface provides instant fare, inventory and additional services via a user-friendly web-based booking portal. This simplifies booking, ticketing and post-sales services.

Travel agents can keep their current setup to Turkish Airlines’ legacy content through Global Distribution Systems (GDS).

However, starting from 1 October 2024, bookings made via GDS will incur a distribution cost charge and the differentiated rich content products will only be available for TKCONNECT users.

Travel agents interested in TKCONNECT can learn more details on the Turkish Airlines’ Partners Landing Page.
