Two United Airlines pilots are due to appear in court in Scotland on Monday after being arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of alcohol.
The pair were arrested as they prepared for a flight from Glasgow to Newark Airport.
The pilots, aged 35 and 45, were held in the cockpit by police before the 9am flight was due to take off. Passengers had already begun boarding.
The flight was delayed by 10 hours while new pilots were found.
United Airlines said the pilots, later named as Carlos Licona, 45, and Paul Grebenc, 35, had both been removed from service and their flying duties.
"We are cooperating with the authorities and will conduct our own investigation as well," said a spokesman.
"The safety of our customers and crew is our highest priority."
