Utopia of the Seas to begin short cruises at Port Canaveral
Royal Caribbean’s new mega ship Utopia of the Seas is to begin sailing short cruise getaways from new homeport Port Canaveral.
It is the largest vessel dedicated to sailing short cruise vacations.
The Oasis Class ship offers 3-night weekend and 4-night weekday cruises with calls at Bahamas private island, Perfect Day at CocoCay.
“Royal Caribbean’s Utopia of the Seas is one of the most anticipated new cruise ships in the industry,” said Capt. John Murray, Port Canaveral CEO.
“We’re proud to be Royal Caribbean’s partner for this industry first experience and excited to support the strong market demand for short itineraries.”
Port Canaveral is now home to two of the three largest ships in the world.
Utopia joins sister ships Wonder of the Seas and Adventure of the Seas.
A fourth Royal Caribbean ship, Voyager of the Seas, will homeport at Port Canaveral from November 26.
To meet the extra capacity, Port Canaveral has expanded parking capacity with around 1,000 additional spaces at Cruise Terminal 1.
Utopia of the Seas features more than 40 dining and drinking options, five pools, two casinos and the longest dry slide at sea measuring 259 feet.
