Virgin Holidays Expands Social Media Strategy

The UKs leading worldwide tour operator Virgin Holidays will soon launch their own social media solution on www.virginholidays.co.uk.

Like many leading high profile tour operators and travel companies, Virgin Holidays are adopting the white-labelled Visitor Review solution to better interact with their existing customers, while reaching out to more.

The solution provided by world leading social media innovators, Digital Visitor, will allow Virgin Holiday customers to share and exchange their travel experiences by posting photos, videos and reviews of destinations they travel to globally.

All of this user-generated content will be displayed on the relevant pages of Virgin Holidays website showcasing visitors with authentic experiences from other like-minded travellers.

A key objective for implementing this onsite social media solution is to provide Virgin Holidays with a real measurable ROI by increasing organic traffic to their website, increasing the browsing time of their customers and increasing the number of enquiries and conversions from booking pages displaying social media content and reviews.

Virgin Holidays’ Katherine Harris, Web Marketing Manager, says: “Social media and reviews are becoming an increasingly important part of people’s decision making process when deciding where they want to go on holiday. We are excited to be working with Digital Visitor on this project to gather an expansive collection of photos, videos and text reviews of the holiday experiences we offer”.

“We’re focussing on showing a real ROI for this activity such as increased traffic to the website, increased browsing time, and overall a greater visitor loyalty to the Virgin Holidays website, by providing holiday makers with the kind of information they are really looking for. We want to be able to help our online visitors really visualise our excellent locations across the world and imagine being there themselves”.

Anthony Rawlins, Managing Director of Digital Visitor, adds: “We are delighted to be working with one of the leading brands in the travel industry. This partnership with Virgin Holidays validates our confidence and the impact our Visitor Review product has achieved in the industry”.

Virgin Holidays will be launching this application on their website in July.
