Visit Britain banks big bucks on Bond
October 5th has been dubbed Global James Bond Day in honor of the 50th anniversary of the premiere of Dr. No.
To herald the day and the upcoming November premiere of Skyfall—the third Bond adventure for Daniel Craig—Visit Britain is announcing a massive new film tourism campaign, centered around the release of the film and the Bond lifestyle so dapperly on display during this summer’s Olympics in London when the Queen (or a reasonable facsimile thereof) and Craig jumped into media history together from a circling helicopter.
The Bond campaign will roll out in 21 countries and centers around the agency’s new "Bond is GREAT Britain" ad campaign. To coincide with celebrations for the 50th anniversary of 007, VisitBritain will also launch an online SKYFALL experience called ‘Agent UK."
Bond fans can take on five online missions across the UK, which will lead them to identify the hidden location of a rogue agent. The winner will be flown to the UK courtesy of British Airways and treated to a luxury "live like Bond" adventure.
