Viva Aerobus ramps up US flights

With Mexico recovering its Category 1 safety rating, Viva Aerobus is ramping up US flights.
It will launch six new routes to US cities – all from Monterrey.
They are to Austin, Denver; Miami; New York; Oakland and Orlando.
Mexico’s safety rating was downgraded by the FAA to Category 2 over two years ago but had Category 1 status reinstated this month.
Viva Aerobus currently flies 20 nonstop routes to the US and during the downgrade wasn’t able to add any new US flights.
It currently offers six US routes from Monterrey.
The just announced new routes will kick off from January 25, 2024 with the launch of flights to Denver.
It will then start Austin flights in March and Orlando in May.
“The US flights are a low-cost option that truly makes it easier for people to visit their relatives, vacation or do business,” Viva Aerobus CEO Juan Carlos Zuazua said.
