Most UK travel professionals support the Government’s decision not to bail out Thomas Cook, according to the latest Mole Poll.
According to evidence at a hearing earlier this week, Thomas Cook chiefs had been confident that the Government would help keep the business going by providing an extra £200 million demanded by lenders.
But the Government refused, saying it didn’t want to set a precedent.
As the debate rages on about whether it should have stepped in, we asked you, TravelMole readers, for your views.
While 41% of you believed the Government should have stumped up the £200 million requested by Thomas Cook’s management, the majority of you – 59% – believe MPs made the right decision.
