Wego launches TV ads in Indonesia
Asia Pacific travel search site Wego has launched its first ever TV and online video campaign, airing currently in Indonesia.
The campaign is running for three months and there are plans to roll it out in other core markets in the region.
The ads consist of 15- and 30-second spots showcasing distinct travel preferences, such as family travel, business and culinary adventures, with a humorous flavor.
The ads highlight the benefits of Wego’s metasearch business model – listing prices from online travel agent rates, alongside direct airline and hotel rates.
"Delivering the Wego message with a touch of humour reinforces our real-person approach that we cultivate in all our communications as well as our product," said Joachim Holte, chief marketing officer for Wego.
Explaining the reasoning behind rolling out the campaign in Indonesia, Holte said: "Indonesia also has a rapidly developing smartphone market who are travelling more and more frequently and enjoying the convenience of our travel app."
"We selected Indonesia as the first market to introduce the campaign. Indonesians have overwhelmingly adopted Wego as their preferred method of travel planning, in fact, Jakarta was one of Wego’s first locations outside of Singapore headquarters where we established a regional office."
