One&Only’s first luxury resort in the US
Lone Mountain Land Company and Kerzner International Holdings Limited recently announced plans for One&Only Moonlight Basin in Big Sky. It will be the first One&Only resort and residential community in the United States when it opens in 2024. Located between Lone Peak and the Spanish Peaks, it will be connected by gondola to Big Sky Resort’s skiing, as well as access to mountain golf courses. The brand’s first alpine resort will be designed by renowned architect Olson Kundig with 73 guestrooms and suites in the main lodge, 19 villas, a separate ski lodge, and a Chenot Spa. The resort will also introduce the first community of One&Only Private Homes in the U.S.

Big Sky Resort Updates

New Lone Peak Tram
In the final phase of Big Sky 2025, Big Sky Resort will transform the lift experience to Lone Peak with a massive feat of engineering. After 25 years of operation, the old tram will be retiring to make way for a new model which will include an all-glass viewing platform at the peak with panoramic views. This reimagined scenic tram to the summit offers guests a must-do activity during both winter and summer. The new tram will debut in the winter 2023-24 season.

Resort Night Skiing
As the sun sets on Lone Peak, fasten your headlamp and get ready to ski. A private, guided tour of Andesite Mountain begins with a ride up Ramcharger 8, complete with heated seats and a weather-proof bubble. The views are a little different at night: countless stars illuminate the sky. Headlamps provided are as powerful as a car headlight, illuminating the way for guests carving down freshly groomed runs.

The Umbrella Bar opens at Big Sky Resort
The New Umbrella Bar elevates the fun in the Mountain Village, replicating a European-style après ski experience. Expansive 360-degree views through an all-glass enclosure allow for enjoying draft beers or craft cocktails with a front row seat to Big Sky’s Lone Peak. Located adjacent to the Summit Hotel, the new Umbrella Bar offers al fresco après on warm spring. The bar opened for the 2022-23 season.

Swift Current 6 Chairlift Debuts
Swift Current 6 Chairlift is Big Sky Resort’s newest six-person, high-speed lift, which has increased uphill capacity by nearly 50%. The upgrade is the resort’s next step in creating the most technologically-advanced lift network in North America. The lift debuted for the 2021-22 season.

The Summit Hotel renovation complete
The Summit Hotel, the premier slopeside lodging at Big Sky Resort, recently debuted a transformative renovation that completely updated all 213 guestrooms and common spaces. Upgrades include improved energy efficiency.

Huntley Lodge transformation
Huntley Lodge recently underwent a significant renovation of its 200 hotel rooms, keeping the unique architectural aesthetic, natural colors and textures found in Montana, with a new, sleek design.

Montage Big Sky opens
Montage Big Sky opened in winter 2021, offering an unparalleled array of experiences for every season. Resort amenities include ski-in/ski-out access, a three-meal restaurant, lobby bar and lounge, market, pub, bowling alley, two pools, golf course and the signature Spa Montage.
