MAKE TRAVEL MATTER
We take pride in creating safari experiences that protect the places we love. Through our #AfricanTravelCares and our partnership with the non-for-profit TreadRight Foundation, we are committed to help the people, wildlife and planet. Each safari supports a child’s education or wildlife conservation project.
OUR SAFARIS
We can’t wait to invite all to live the African Dream. But first we ask a few questions…What animals or events (the Great Migration!) are high on your wish lists? What’s your travel style? Is a luxury villa or traditional tented camps preferred? Then we tailor trips to Safari, Your Way.

Established by Yared Bizuneh in June of this year, its aim is to boost tourism throughout the continent. The August 29 webinar helped showcase Africa’s diverse and rich cultural heritage to a global audience. The event, a Tourism Insight Virtual Summit, convened industry experts to discuss strategies for elevating the profile of African tourism. Yared Bizuneh outlined an ambitious plan to quintuple tourism's contribution to the continent's economy, raising it from 6% to 25%. This growth, Bizuneh said, can be achieved through promotional activities, dynamic news platforms, interactive marketplaces, educational initiatives, strategic investments, and engaging events. The webinar saw participation from more than 30 companies, including Visit Zimbabwe, Pure Morocco and Fairmont. Yared Bizuneh's presentation was supported by the contributions of guest speakers including Cass Helstrip, who offers expertise as a freelance public relations consultant for Africa Travel Connect. Additionally, insights were shared by Gary Jacobs, the founder and director of Spinning Globe, as well as Luca Romozzi and Cedric Lopez, representing Sojern. This event precedes Africa Travel Connect’s first ‘Meet the Media’ scheduled for the September 25 in Hammersmith, London. Media representatives will have the chance to engage directly with stakeholders, including tourist boards, airlines, and hotels. Additionally, travel agents and industry publications are invited to participate. Attendees include Ethiopian Airlines and Zimbabwe Tourist Board. Other interested parties can register interest via [email protected]. Founder Yared Bizuneh said: "We were delighted with the remarkable success of the Tourism Insight Virtual Summit, it's evident that such platforms are not just events, but catalysts for growth and unity.” “I am confident that with continued collaboration and investment, tourism in Africa will experience unprecedented growth”.Related News Stories: Qatar Airways, Aer Lingus launch new airline codeshare Marriott - TravelMole WTM - World Travel Market - TravelMole American Tours International - TravelMole LATAM Airlines Group - TravelMole Traveltek - TravelMole Riviera Travel launching new river ship Qatar Airways - TravelMole Expedia TAAP - TravelMole Partner News - TravelMole

Advisors can also access a customizable brochure to share with clients. AFRICA’S HOTTEST DESTINATIONS FOR 2022 The romance series features curated journeys to Africa’s hottest destinations. Each of its safaris includes an interesting mix of Africa’s top lodges and camps and some exciting memorable moments.- Africa’s islands and beaches are extremely popular. African Travel has seen an increase in requests for Seychelles and Zanzibar. The most popular safari for romance remains African Romance which pairs the intimacy of a secluded island in Mozambique with the exuberance of a safari in South Africa’s Kruger Private Reserve and the exploration of the one of the world’s best cities, Cape Town. If guests reserve now, their safari will include a complimentary Azura Benguerra island hopping experience, with visits to beautiful beaches, snorkeling and a scenic beach picnic.
- Another top romantic safari destination is Kenya. On Under Kenyan Skies, guests can explore two distinct Kenya iconic wildlife regions by day while relaxing at some of the continent’s best lodges and camps at night, including Mahali Mzuri, Travel + Leisure’s 2021 #1 World’s Best Hotel in the World, and one of the most exciting ways to experience Africa at night with a night a four poster Star bed at the Loisaba Conservancy. If guests travel before June 15, 2022, they will receive an additional complimentary night at Mahali Mzuri.
- Getting off the beaten path is another hot trend. For a truly remote experience, Botswana offers a slew of new and revamped camps and lodges in famous reserves. There is unbelievable savings on one of African Travel’s most luxurious safaris Platinum Botswana, especially for those that choose to visit before June. Guests can catch the end of the Makgadikgadi Pans green season when there is the continent’s secret migration of zebra and blue wildebeest and enjoy exploring the newly opened and sustainable Xigera Safari Lodge in the heart of the Okavango Delta.

Announces COVID Vaccination Requirement on 2022 Group Safaris - News & announcementsPhoto: Sabi Sabi Private Game Reserve, South AfricaAfrican Travel, Inc., an award-winning, luxury safari outfitter, will require all travelers to be fully vaccinated on their small group safaris in 2022. African Travel, Inc. is the first U.S. safari outfitter exclusively focused on Africa to require COVID vaccinations. Starting Jan. 1, 2022, guests traveling in non-family groups of 10+ and on African Travel’s set group departures will need to provide proof of an approved COVID-19 vaccination (Pfizer, Moderna, Astra Zeneca Vaxzevria, or Johnson & Johnson), before joining their safari and upon arrival to their destination. Guests will also need to comply with specific PCR testing requirements imposed by airlines and/or governments, which may differ from country to country. “This decision ensures our commitment to our guests that their well-being is our top priority,” said Sherwin Banda, president of African Travel, Inc. “It is essential that we take personal responsibility to help protect each other, the people and the places we visit.” To show proof of vaccination, all guests will be asked to provide an authentic COVID-19 vaccination certificate - electronic or paper showing date and time of the vaccination(s) - with the final dose given at least 15 days before the start of their safari. Any testing that is required pre-travel will be the responsibility of the guest to organize, and our safari specialists will facilitate any additional testing requirements for travelers while traveling. African Travel’s safari vacation packages which feature set group departures to Egypt, Kenya, Tanzania and Southern Africa are truly intimate, averaging no more than 12 guests. Each of African Travel’s journeys are tailor-made and clients can add additional experiences based on interests. “Guests can feel safe knowing that when they join a set departure or group hosted by their advisor, they are traveling with others who are vaccinated,” said Banda. “If clients prefer a different style of travel whether that’s a private vehicle or in their own bubble, we can customize experiences unique to each traveler’s well-being needs.” African Travel’s peace of mind promise includes a dedicated and experienced team of safari specialists who look after every detail, providing a safe, worry-free experience. Pre-departure tips and links to paperwork as well as itineraries with time saving testing allows more time to relax or safari. Vetted preferred partners that adhere to strict standards ensure safety, security, and hygiene. Safari investments are protected with options for travel insurance that include cancel for any reason and Future Travel Credits. The promise also includes 24/7 concierge care. With local offices in Africa and experts based across North America, advisors and guests can always reach local hosts and safari specialists who rapidly respond and make changes to any services or itineraries if the need arises.
