Turkiye carrier Corendon Airlines has entered a strategic partnership with IBS Software to help transform its commercial operations. By leveraging IBS Software’s iFly Res commerce platform Corendon hopes to boost revenue streams and enhance operational efficiency. This is a key requirement as the airline is projected to handle over 37 million passengers over the duration of the partnership. IBS Software was selected after an in-depth market evaluation which took over a year to complete. Corendon Airlines chose the iFly Res Passenger Service System (PSS) as it can unify Corendon’s seat-only and tour operator business under a consolidated inventory. In turn, manpower requirements are reduced. The platform will empower revenue analysts to make consistent, data-driven decisions, it says. The collaboration also enables dynamic optimisation of pooled allotments, seat-only inventory, and pricing, all designed to maximise revenue. Through NDC-based distribution, Corendon Airlines will now be able to offer dynamic pricing and more personalised options. It says these real-time dynamic and personalised pricing capabilities are vital in delivering the most cost-effective fares and ensuring pricing is competitive. Burcu Par Güler, PSS Project Manager of Corendon Airlines, said: "By partnering with IBS Software, we are leveraging cutting-edge technology to refine our operations and elevate our service offerings." Corendon Airlines becomes the third Turkish airline, following Sun Express and Freebird, to join forces with IBS Software. The first phase of the partnership is due to go live in December, with the second phase scheduled for March 2025.

  Former Lufthansa and MSC manager to drive sustainable growth   Christian Hein (58) has recently been appointed as the newly created role of Head of Sales & Marketing at Corendon Airlines. As the newest member of the leisure airline's management team, Hein, an experienced aviation and tourism manager, will now assume cross-market responsibility for all sales, marketing and communication activities. This includes selling Corendon Airlines flights in cooperation with tour operators and travel agencies, as well as individual seat sales through the company’s own digital channels and online travel agencies. Hein will be based both at the company headquarters in Antalya and near Frankfurt Airport.   “We are operating in a market environment with numerous challenges. Following roles in revenue management at Lufthansa and Swiss International Air Lines, Hein initially became General Manager of Lufthansa's Northern European business and, from 2007, was responsible for global business customers as Director Global Key Account Management. In 2013, he moved to Eurowings where he played an active role in the airline's transformation as Senior Vice President of Sales. Starting in 2016, Hein temporarily worked as Director of Agency Sales for the AXA insurance group before leading the German representation of MSC Cruises in Munich from April 2019 to May 2024. These years at the cruise company were characterised by massive expansion with high capacity growth. Corendon Airlines has announced new Crete flights from the UK for summer 2024 New routes to Crete will begin in the summer with two flights a week from both London Gatwick and Manchester to Heraklion. “Following feedback from trade partners, we have now expanded our UK offering to include Crete flights for summer 2024,” said Commercial Director, Mine Aslan. “The new Crete flights will be the first of several new destinations we plan to feature from the UK.” As well as the new Crete flights, Corendon Airlines also added London Stansted to their summer 2024 programme offering three flights a week to Antalya. “These additional flights will now increase our summer 2024 capacity to over 360,000, our biggest programme from the UK so far.” added Aslan. Corendon Airlines unveiled its 2024 summer UK flights programme. It comes as the airline reports a surge in sales for flights this summer. The airline launched part of its summer 2024 schedule with direct flights to Antalya from six UK airports. “We are launching our UK flights much earlier, as we are already seeing advanced demand,” said Commercial Director, Mine Aslan. “We have seen recent summer 2023 demand increase and expect to see this increase for the main summer 2023 season.” “While relatively new in the UK, we are looking to increase departure points in the future.” Corendon Airlines has 32 weekly UK flights to Antalya and Dalaman this summer. The summer 2024 programme currently offers 19 weekly flights to Antalya from Gatwick, Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle, Bristol and Glasgow. The airline plans to expand the summer 2024 programme in the next few weeks.
