Cape Verde will become the first ever Sub-Saharan destination easyJet has flown to, when it takes off from London Gatwick airport next summer. Inaugural Cape Verde flights will take off on 31 March 2025 and operate three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays throughout the summer season. Located off the west coast of Africa, the tropical islands are the latest destination added to the airline’s growing network. Tour operator easyJet holidays, is launching Cape Verde holidays inclusive of flights, hotel accommodation, 23kg luggage and transfers. EasyJet will also offer flights this summer to another brand new destination, Rimini in Italy. The carrier is growing its network at London Luton with routes to the Andalusian capital Almeria in Spain and Funchal in Madeira. Five new routes are now on sale from Manchester to Izmir, Kalamata, Larnaca, Madrid and Rome. EasyJet’s newest UK base at Birmingham airport continues to grow with the addition of four new services to Bordeaux, Gibraltar, Gran Canaria and Malta. The airline will also now serve Leeds Bradford airport with two new Spanish routes to Malaga and Palma. The airline is providing customers in Scotland with more choice for the summer with new flights to North African destinations of Enfidha in Tunisia and Marrakech from Edinburgh next summer for the first time, alongside flights to Olbia in Sardinia. Two new routes will take off from Glasgow to Antalya in Turkey and Reus in Spain. A route to Reus will also be served by a twice weekly service from Belfast International Airport. The extensive flight launch means thousands more package holidays available via easyJet holidays, which currently offers over 70 destinations across beach and city breaks Customers can use easyJet's Low Fare Finder on easyJet.com to search for the lowest fares on easyJet's entire network. The airline serves 21 UK airports, offering 584 routes to 136 destinations from the UK to Europe and beyond. -

Flights to Tromso, Norway, Strasbourg in France and Luxor flights all took off this week. Luxor, Egypt was last served by easyJet from Gatwick over ten years ago while two entirely new destinations, to Tromso in Norway and the French city of Strasbourg, took off for the first time. The new twice-weekly Tromso flights will operate on Mondays and Fridays throughout winter to one of the best places to view the Northern Lights. The new connection to Strasbourg in France, another brand-new destination for easyJet, operates on Mondays, Fridays and Sundays. The new Luxor flights operate on Mondays and Thursdays. Known around the world as the gateway for ancient temples and tombs, Luxor is home to the Valley of the Kings and the tomb of Tutankhamun. For the first time, easyJet holidays will offer a river cruise package holiday to Luxor, with seven-night Nile River cruises in partnership with Jaz Hotels and Resorts. It sails from Luxor to Edfu and on to Aswan. In addition, easyJet holidays has also put city breaks on sale to the Norwegian city of Tromso, offering the chance to take in the Northern Lights or whale watching. EasyJet holidays has ten handpicked hotels available to book. Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK Country Manager, said: “We are thrilled to be inaugurating two brand new routes and to resume our service to Luxor.” “These new additions offer something for everyone with great value fares and package holidays.” EasyJet is London Gatwick’s largest airline and the largest base in its network. Following the success of the easyJet route to Belfast which has been running since 2021 and while eagerly awaiting the new Geneva connection which will begin in January 2025, easyJet has begun a new service from Leeds Bradford to Paris. Flights will operate twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays throughout winter until the end of March, offering travellers the chance to experience everything Paris has to offer, from Disneyland to the Moulin Rouge - all from the convenience of Leeds Bradford Airport. On Mondays, the flight to Paris from Leeds Bradford will depart at 14:10, perfect for those business trips or week-long getaways. While on Fridays, in time for a long weekend in the French capital, it will take-off at 12:40. Flights are now available to book via www.easyJet.com from as little as £23.99 per person. In addition, Lawrence Leyton, a leading expert in the psychology of fear, teaches a unique set of mind techniques to help manage nerves.
- A pre-flight one-hour ‘Meet the Team’ online Zoom session, where participants will be walked through the airport experience and what to expect. There will also be a Q&A session with the Fearless Flyer Team including an easyJet pilot, Lawrence Leyton and Course Director Mark Wein, who shares his tips and advice on how he overcame his own fear of flying many years ago.

At a Net Zero tech showcase marking the second anniversary of easyJet’s Net Zero Roadmap, the airline revealed the partnership at its latest zero-carbon initiative. JetZero has backing from the U.S. Air Force, NASA and FAA and is working on the first blended-wing aircraft which is due to enter service by 2030. Future models of the aircraft could support hydrogen combustion engine tech such as those easyJet is also developing alongside Rolls-Royce. These aircraft is expected to provide up to 50% lower fuel burn and emissions versus traditional tube-and-wing designs. The announcement comes as new research by the airline revealed that nearly three quarters (71%) of Brits believe that zero emission technology such as hydrogen is the best option to decarbonise aviation. It found 6 in 10 Brits say they want to travel more sustainably, with the majority looking to tech advancements to lower their impact. The majority (71%) believe zero-carbon emission tech such as hydrogen-powered aircraft will be the best option to decarbonise aviation. Almost half (46%) added they were excited by the prospect of flying zero-carbon emission hydrogen aircraft. EasyJet launched its Net Zero Roadmap in 2022, with a plan that will see the airline reach net-zero through a series of initiatives. The ultimate goal is to fly zero carbon emission hydrogen aircraft. easyJet is already working with partners across the industry, including Airbus and Rolls-Royce on several dedicated projects. From November 2024, 20 easyJet pilots will swap A320 flying to train on Virgin Atlantic’s Airbus A350 fleet for around three years, returning to easyJet at the end of the placement. The partnership will provide easyJet pilots with over 1,500 flying hours with the opportunity to experience operations on wide-body Airbus A350 and further their flight deck experience over long-haul routes.
