Grape expectations are growing for the upcoming 38th Annual GrapeFest – A Texas Wine Experience. Taking place September 12- 15, 2024, it sees wine lovers and experts descend on Grapevine, Texas, located between Dallas and Fort Worth. Grapevine, the Vintage Texas destination is welcoming its International Sister Cities to enjoy a huge array of quality wines, attractions and entertainment. Experts from Barossa, Australia will conduct master wine classes and food and wine pairing workshops. The International Wine Experience will feature two wine valleys with rich history representing the Old World of Krems, Austria (circa 1452) and the New World of Barossa, Australia (1844). Barossa Valley wines feature bold, fruity flavors. GrapeFest will celebrate wines from these two regions and Texas when Grapevine's Historic Main Street closes to traffic for four days. GrapeFest presents more than 70 food and artisan vendors with wine tastings. It features the People's Choice Wine Tasting Classic - the largest consumer-judged wine competition in the Southwestern US. There will be live music, a carnival and KidZone activities. The Bushong Log Cabin’s new location will be on Historic Main Street in Grapevine, Texas

  Grapevine continues its commitment to heritage preservation with an exciting new project aimed at saving the historic Bushong Log Cabin. Originally built in 1858, near where the Gaylord Texan Resort sits, by George Emanuel Bushong, the cabin is a significant piece of Grapevine’s rich history. The cabin will be carefully moved to its new location at Liberty Park Plaza on Historic Main Street.   When: Summer 2024 Where: Liberty Park Plaza RSVP: To document this historic move, RSVP to Elizabeth Schrack. Historic pictures and news articles are also available upon request.   The Bushong Log Cabin stands as a testament to the pioneering spirit of Grapevine’s early settlers. George Emanual Bushong arrived in Grapevine from Bance, Tennessee in the Fall of 1858 at the age of 22. His numerous contributions to the community include building and operating the first Cotton Gin in the Grapevine area, building a sawmill and flour mill and also teaching in the newly settled Grape Vine Prairie. Working alongside other notable families in Grapevine, he played a crucial role in constructing many of the businesses and buildings that still stand on Main Street today. Most notably, he founded the Grapevine National Bank and served as its first president, a position he held until his death. Bushong was married to Elizabeth Ann and they had 13 children.   When moved to Liberty Park Plaza, the Cabin will be restored to its original 1858 appearance with an attached shed to the rear. The relocation of the Bushong Lob Cabin is another significant step in preserving Grapevine’s history and underscores Grapevine’s dedication to maintaining its historical landmarks for future generations to appreciate. Family-friendly prices and great discounts will be offered on Historic Main Street

  The Grapevine Convention & Visitors Bureau is thrilled to announce "All Tracks Lead to Grapevine." The captivating dinosaur experience stomps its way into Grapevine from June 3rd to July 31st. This exciting Summer program promises to be an unforgettable Prehistoric Adventure for visitors of all ages.   Dig Up a World of Fun   Travel millions of years back in time at the Dino-Dig, an interactive dig site at the Grapevine Tower Gallery (636 S. Main St.) where budding paleontologists can unearth hidden dinosaur bones. Visitors can take a photo with the mighty T-Rex, while informative panels throughout the gallery will educate visitors on the fascinating world of dinosaurs.   The Grapevine Tower Gallery exhibit delves deep into the prehistoric past, showcasing the Western Interior Seaway that once covered North Texas during the Cretaceous Period. For $1, visitors will learn about the science of paleontology, discover the different dinosaur species that roamed the area and explore the geologic timescale. Each Saturday in June, the exhibit will feature Dino Talks with Grapevine Fossil Hunter Murray Cohen. Cohen attracted worldwide media attention last year after discovering a new type of dinosaur jawbone at Lake Grapevine. He will share his knowledge and experience as he speaks on fossil hunting, making casts of dinosaur tracks, as well as jacketing, mapping and collection techniques.   Guests can also see where the incredible dinosaur discoveries were made from 12 stories up by visiting Grapevine Observation Tower (815 S. Main St.) for $3 per ticket. Both the Grapevine Tower Gallery and the Grapevine Observation Gallery are open 7 days a week.   All Aboard the Dino Train!   Step back in time to the Age of the Dinosaurs on Grapevine Vintage Railroad’s Dinos on the Tracks. The excursions will include fun activities for all ages and a special narration about different dinosaurs from the Perot Museum’s paleontologist Dr. Ron Tykoski. There will also be fossils and educational presentations in the Cotton Belt Depot on select dates. The excursions run Fridays June 14th through July 19th at 10:50 a.m. Tickets cost $10 - $12, they can be secured in advance at GVRR.com.   Catch a Dinosaur Movie at the Palace Theatre   Enjoy classic dinosaur movies on Thursday mornings at the Historic Palace Theatre. “Dinosaur Thursdays” feature kid-friendly dinosaur adventures at 10 a.m. for $5 per person.
