Princess Cruises has tweaked one of its Europe itineraries to transform it into a solar eclipse cruise. The August 2026 voyage on the appropriately named Sun Princess has been amended to take advantage of the solar eclipse. It re-worked the itinerary departing Barcelona on August 8, 2026 to position the ship off the coast of southern Spain on August 12, where guest can view the two minutes and 18 seconds of totality. Princess is offering seven to 21-night Mediterranean voyage options departing from several popular ports to see the eclipse. Princess Cruises’ new Love Boat Sun Princess, has made her UK debut. The ship was officially greeted during the Inaugural Call Celebration, hosted by Sun Princess Captain Craig Street. The event comprised a traditional Plaque and Key ceremony, attended by Councillor Dave Shields, Lord Mayor of Southampton. Sun Princess’ arrival in the Solent marked the completion of its inaugural Mediterranean season. "It’s wonderful to be able to celebrate this occasion with UK travel partners from across the country.” said Eithne Williamson, VP Princess Cruises UK and Europe. Sun Princess is now heading to Fort Lauderdale, Florida to start her first Caribbean season.

Princess Cruises has secured flight allocations with Jet2.com for 2025 fly-cruise passenger capacity from four regional airports in the UK to the Mediterranean. Through Plane Sailing, Princess Cruises' air travel booking service, guests can book fly-cruise flights from Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, and Newcastle to combine with a Mediterranean cruise on Majestic Princess. All flights include 22kg hold luggage and 10kg hand luggage per person. Via a dedicated white label website, Princess Cruises guests will be able book Jet2.com flights, access and manage their booking, and pay to pre-book seating, and additional luggage in advance using their cruise booking reference. "These flight allocations with Jet2.com allow our guests to coordinate their air travel with their cruise itinerary, enhancing their holiday planning experience,” Eithne Williamson, VP, Princess Cruises UK and Europe, said.
