Trip.com recently announced the latest developments with TripGenie its AI-powered trip planning assistant. TripGenie can provide actionable responses. Unlike traditional chatbots, TripGenie answers queries and then takes users directly to the relevant information. For example, if a user asks about family-friendly Singapore hotels, it quickly presents a list of hotels that match the criteria. The integration of voice commands and AI-driven actions helps streamline the travel planning process. It simplifies the journey from inquiry to action but doesn’t handle the booking directly. TripGenie can show all available flights, but the customer will retain control over booking, says Amy Wei, Senior Product Director at Trip.com. Trip.com's tech team continues expanding the AI assistant's capabilities to enable more actionable responses. TripGenie is actively being tested with voice interactions in English. The tech team is also working on the accuracy of Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) for other languages. “We envision integrating it with voice-activated devices like smart speakers and leveraging the power of voice recognition tech,” Wei added.

Trip.com Group has chosen Globick to power its tours and activities B2B connectivity platform. Globick will provide new API integrations between Trip.com Group platforms including Trip.com and Ctrip  and travel service providers. These include events, experiences, theme park and activities operators. The Group will integrate new chosen operators with a direct contract via Globick's B2B connectivity platform.
