Canadian Affair has been announced as the winner of the Best Large Holiday Company to Canada Gold Award in the prestigious 2020 British Travel Awards for the seventh year in a row.
Founded in 1995, Canadian Affair is the UK’s leading holiday company to Canada, offering tailor-made holidays with direct flights from airports across the UK to many destinations across Canada.
Earlier this year, Canadian Affair launched a Peace of Mind Promise (POMP) to provide reassurance for consumers booking holidays to Canada and to agents making bookings on their behalf.
With the POMP, if you book a package and there is FCO advice against travel or a quarantine within 14 days of your scheduled departure, Canadian Affair gives you three options:
-
- Travel as normal
- Change your dates of travel
- Cancel your holiday, and receive a full refund within 14 days
Chris Hedley, Managing Director, Canadian Affair said: “We are grateful for the trust that the British travelling public has put in Canadian Affair for the seventh successive year.
“This has been a challenging year but, with the recent introduction of our Peace of Mind Promise, we have seen a noticeable increase in demand and are confident that 2021 will be a year of positive steps forward.”
Canadian Affair will launch a range of new holidays in 2021, offering customers more ways to experience Canada than ever before. These will include new fly drive itineraries and hotels in Atlantic Canada, and holidays focused on Ontario and its great lakes that combine world famous attractions with lesser known indigenous experiences.
British Travel Awards’ chief executive Lorraine Barnes Burton said: “Canadian Affair is to be congratulated on winning the Best Large Holiday Company to Canada Gold Award in this most difficult year for the travel industry.
“The winners of the British Travel Awards are decided by votes from the travelling public and despite many people being unable to take a holiday this year some did manage to, before and between lockdowns. We also asked voters to show their support for companies they had a good experience with, paying attention to customer service – recognising companies who had helped them with re-bookings, refunds and cancellations. The British Travel Awards is still the largest consumer voted awards in the UK and congratulations to all the worthy winners. We’re looking ahead and forward, all being well, to travelling again soon.”
