NexusTours – the leading DMC in the Caribbean, Central America, and North America, and part of GoNexus Group, a leading experiences and mobility travel group – is proud to announce a groundbreaking partnership with EcoCart, a sustainability platform that calculates and offsets carbon emissions from online ordersmaking it the first Destination Management Company (DMC) in Latin America, North America, and the Caribbean to offer carbon-neutral last mile transfers for e-commerce purchases made on NexusTours.com and other affiliated white label platforms.
Travelers can take advantage of this carbon-neutral option not only on the NexusTours.com platform but also across other additional white label platforms managed by the company, such as Royalton Luxury Resorts, expanding the reach and impact of this initiative.
With this innovative integration, NexusTours’ travelers now have the option to offset the carbon emissions (CO2) of their transfer services, ensuring that their journey is “carbon neutral.” This pioneering initiative allows customers to contribute just a few dollars to offset their carbon footprint, with all proceeds supporting various social and environmental projects around the globe. These projects include critical reforestation efforts, which not only combat climate change but also provide vital resources and benefits to local communities and ecosystems.
Rubén Gutiérrez, President of GoNexus Group, said: “At NexusTours we are the first DMCs to embrace carbon emission offsetting—a practice that, while common in other industries such as aviation, not among DMCs. This bold step demonstrates our commitment to sustainability and leadership in the travel sector.”
Ruben added: “We are deeply committed to leading the way in sustainable travel. Our partnership with EcoCart marks a significant milestone in our efforts to minimize our environmental impact and offer our travelers the opportunity to make a positive difference. By choosing to offset their carbon footprint, our customers are not only helping to protect the planet but are also supporting crucial reforestation projects that benefit communities and ecosystems worldwide.”
Concepción Moreno, Marketing and ESG Director at GoNexus Group added: “This collaboration with EcoCart is part of a broader Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy that we are currently developing. We have recently calculated our carbon emissions, and now we are implementing a comprehensive ESG strategy aimed at reducing our environmental impact and overall carbon footprint. We call on the industry to make this a standard! Together, we can set a new benchmark for sustainability in the travel sector and beyond.”
