Luxury tour operators Elegant Resorts and If Only held their inaugural Overseas Managers’ conference this month, in partnership with Grecotel Corfu Imperial Palace, sponsored by AlUla, Emirates, Celebrity Cruises and Inspiretec.
The conference was attended by both businesses’ management teams as plans for the next three years for both operators are being finalised. Representatives for Celebrity Cruises, AlUla, Emirates and Inspiretec were also present and updated the teams with news and developments.
The aim of the two-day event, themed Evolution – Owning our Future, was to share experiences and perspectives, to help navigate the complexities of growing the businesses, drive innovation, explore emerging trends, and collaborate across both brands – strengthening the bonds that unite both organisations and empowering the team to evolve. Sessions included a business update from Managing Director Lisa Fitzell; leadership sessions with a professional coach; brainstorming sessions; and a Q&A with Lisa, If Only’s General Manager Gordon Mc Creadie and Redmond Walsh, CEO at the Portman Travel Group. The itinerary also included updates from sponsors and partners, a dinner at Grecotel owned Danilia Village, complete with traditional dances and plate smashing, and a treasure hunt in the streets of Corfu Old Town.
Grecotel Corfu Imperial Palace was the perfect inspiring venue to spend these two days sharing ideas and focussing on the future of the companies. Nestled on a private peninsula with stunning views over the Ionian Sea and close to Corfu Old Town, the resort offers superb accommodation and the warmest and most attentive service, all while basking in the warm September sunshine.
Lisa Fitzell commented: “Spending these two days with the team in Corfu has been an invaluable experience as we enter our three-year development plan for both If Only and Elegant Resorts. We are empowering our teams to take our brands to the next level, so we have a prosperous, sustainable and profitable future. I want to thank Grecotel Corfu Imperial Palace for their warm welcome, as well as our sponsors, Celebrity Cruises, InspireTec, Emirates and AlUla, without whom it would not have been possible.”
