Jet2.com and Jet2holidays expand Summer 23 programme from London Stansted Airport with additional destination and aircraft
- Continued strong demand for award-winning flights and holidays sees companies add Bourgas (Bulgaria) to Summer 23 programme
- Thousands of extra seats have gone on sale today with a 16th based aircraft coming into operation at London Stansted for peak summer season
Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have today responded to continued strong demand from holidaymakers in the South East and London, by expanding their Summer 23 operation from London Stansted Airport. This expansion means the companies have added another sunshine destination and thousands more seats from London Stansted Airport, with an additional aircraft coming into operation for the peak summer season too.
The UK’s largest tour operator and third largest airline have introduced flights and holidays to Bourgas in Bulgaria for Summer 23 from London Stansted, with twice-weekly flights operating from 21st July through to late-September.
This means holidaymakers have fantastic choice and flexibility when it comes to accessing Bulgaria’s Black Sea coast, as well as the region’s top resorts, including Sunny Beach, Nessebar and St Vlas. This is great news for holidaymakers as Sunny Beach was recently recognised as the third best holiday destination in the world for value[i].
It also means that Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have 43 sunny hotspots for customers and independent travel agents to choose from this summer from their second largest UK base, with up to 240 weekly departures during peak periods meaning unrivalled choice and flexibility for customers departing from the airport.
In response to the huge demand for flights and great value ATOL protected package holidays, the companies are also investing into expanding their operation at London Stansted, thanks to the addition of a 16th based aircraft which will operate during the peak summer season.
The addition of this aircraft has enabled Jet2.com and Jet2holidays to add thousands of seats to some of its most popular destinations in the Balearics, Italy, Portugal and Greece during the school holiday season.
The destinations seeing capacity increases (peak weekly departures from London Stansted in brackets following the increases) are: Majorca (23), Ibiza (13), Menorca (9), Sicily (2), Faro (Algarve) (12), Crete (Heraklion) (11), Kalamata (2) and Rhodes (10).
News of this expansion comes on the back of Jet2holidays recently becoming the UK’s largest tour operator, as well as receiving Which? Recommended Provider status once again.
Jet2holidays was recognised by customers for maintaining the personal touch with them, delivering a VIP customer service, and consistently maintaining high levels of service. This industry-leading customer service includes friendly flight times and a generous 22kg baggage allowance with Jet2.com, along with transfers, ATOL protection and in-resort Customer Helpers, all for a low £60 per person booking deposit. As the home of free child places, there are also thousands of free child places available, and the option to Pay Monthly means holidaymakers can spread the cost of their next holiday into interest-free monthly payments, with zero payment fees.
This is in addition to Jet2.com receiving the same accolade from Which?.
Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays said: “We are looking forward to a brilliant summer from London Stansted Airport. The demand from customers and independent travel agents has remained strong for several months, so we have once again responded by expanding our programme and investing in our London Stansted operation. As a result, customers and independent travel agents now have more choice, more destinations and more sunshine to look forward to with our award-winning holiday business and airline. This expansion further strengthens our presence at London Stansted Airport and we look forward to filling our aircraft with happy holidaymakers.”
Simon Gorrighan, London Stansted’s Aviation Director, said: “The addition of a 16th based aircraft by Jet2.com and Jet2holidays at London Stansted this summer season is fantastic news for passengers looking to take advantage of the extra choice and extra destinations now on offer, including the introduction of exciting new flights and holidays to Bourgas in Bulgaria.
“The news is a real vote of confidence in the airport and a reflection of the huge demand from passengers across the region for great value, convenient flights and holidays, and we really look forward to continuing to build our successful partnership with Jet2.com and Jet2holidays for what promises to be their busiest summer ever at London Stansted.”
