TUPELO
Tupelo is the home to Elvis Presley’s Birthplace, where in 1935 the world’s greatest entertainer was born. You can tour the tiny shotgun shack where Elvis took his first breath, visit the church where he sang his first song and visit the Tupelo Hardware Store where he strummed his first guitar. 2025 will mark Elvis’ 90th birthday and celebrations are lined up in Tupelo to remember the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll in the best way they know how!
CELEBRATE TUPELO 2025
Tupelo have a year of celebrations in 2025 with their most iconic people and places. Although it’s in their spirit to honour all the small victories, some years demand recognition and celebrations fit for a king – and 2025 is one of those years!

CLARKSDALE
Clarksdale is the home of the Blues and is located along the Sunflower River! You’ll find live music all year round, plus over 20 annual festivals. Home to many of the Mississippi Blues Trail markers, the town is full of blues history. Blues fans can also visit ‘The Crossroads’ – a fabled spot at Highway 61 & 49 where Delta bluesman Robert Johnson is said to have sold his soul to the Devil in exchange for his guitar talent. With live blues 365-nights of the year, Clarksdale is also home to many blues venues including Ground Zero Blues Club, co-owned by Morgan Freeman.
CLEVELAND
Cleveland is a small, Southern town in the Mississippi Delta, with a charming downtown area complete with locally owned restaurants, cafes, art galleries and museums. It’s also home to another big music landmark for Mississippi. The GRAMMY Museum Mississippi, the first GRAMMY museum outside of Los Angeles, opened in 2016 to honour all award winners from the Magnolia state which is steeped in music history. You’ll experience the state’s rich history in blues, country, rock-and-roll, pop and other genres as you learn about legendary Mississippi musicians.
INDIANOLA
A short journey South and you’ll arrive in Indianola to find the B.B. King Museum and Delta Interpretive Centre. Find the story behind the music and more about the life of B.B. King as he started in Mississippi’s Delta before International Fame!
He started life as Riley B. King in 1925, in one of America’s most impoverished places, the Mississippi Delta and became the King of Blues with international fame. Music lovers around the world travel to Indianola and the B.B. King Museum and Delta Interpretive Center as they tell the story of his life, career and stories from around the Delta. The museum and Delta town are preparing 100th birthday celebrations to commemorate The King of the Blues during 2025.
JACKSON
Mississippi has played witness to some of America’s most pivotal moments, and Jackson is where you’ll find the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum and Mississippi Museum of History. Comprised of eight interactive galleries, the Civil Rights Museum shows how the population was oppressed and their fight for equality, and the link between the cotton fields and the history of the blues. Listen to authentic blues during ‘Blue Monday’ at Hal & Mal’s, and throughout the week in the Farish Street Historic District.
NATCHEZ
Natchez sits on a natural bluff above the mighty Mississippi River and offers breathtaking views and some of the best sunsets over “Ol’ Man River”. In the 1850’s Natchez was home to more millionaires than anywhere else in America, and today, it still boasts a wealth of historic homes, many of which are open for guided tours. Homes and gardens are opened during their Spring and Autumn Pilgrimages.
NATCHEZ TRACE PARKWAY
The scenic Natchez Trace Parkway weaves its way through the state, and is renowned for its unspoilt, natural beauty. Stretching diagonally across the state from Natchez to Nashville, Tennessee, it’s a total of 444-miles of an enchanted route through lush forests in the heart of Mississippi’s past. The Old Trace was first trod by buffalo then American Indians and today is a National Scenic Byway.
MISSISSIPPI BLUES TRAIL
In Mississippi they can talk about the blues all day long! For music or history fans the self-guided Mississippi Blues Trail is perfect to explore the history of the Delta Blues and visit every spot throughout the state that is linked to the blues. These include grave, birth sites, train stations, railroad crossings, highway intersections, places and venues where now-famous musicians once played and clubs where legends still play so you’ll get your blues fix in the best way possible.
