With just over two weeks to go until 29th April when MSC Virtuosa arrives in the port of Southampton ahead of the start of the Summer season of sailings, MSC Cruises shares further details of the tailored onboard experience which offers guests all the European glamour and style the brand is famous for, as well as some special enhancements to make the ship a home away from home.
In addition to the return of kettles, tea & coffee in cabins, afternoon tea, and roast dinners served in the buffet, and British TV channels available in cabins, the line is also enhancing the entertainment programme. This will include new to MSC Cruises, Street Theatre performances at different locations around the ship, Tribute Acts, Live Musicians, Guest Lecturers, Craft Specialists and a UK Comedian. In addition, the Company has big plans to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee with a programme of events planned including a street party, guest singers, afternoon tea with live entertainment and themed karaoke.
Antonio Paradiso, Managing Director MSC Cruises UK & Ireland said “Over the last five years our presence in the UK & Irish markets has increased significantly and for the second year running we are home porting one of the biggest ships in the fleet from the UK. Our commitment to the UK cruise industry has been clear and we are incredibly proud of our strong relationships with our trade partners and our open dialogue with our customers.”
Of the enhanced onboard experience, he added “We first made product enhancements specific to the UK market back in 2018 and the feedback since then has been great. These new additions and further refinement of the experience are based on the valuable feedback from our travel agent partners and our guests. Based on this we have delivered new itineraries with more choice, to new destinations and warmer climates, committed to a ship sailing year-round from Southampton and enhanced the onboard proposition further in order to provide British guests with the best possible holiday experience.”
In May 2020 MSC Virtuosa was the first ship to set sail in the UK following the global pause caused by the pandemic. The line’s stringent health and safety measures have remained in place for sailings across the globe with the Company adapting to local authority regulations when necessary. The Company recently announced changes to these regulations with regards to shore excursions as guests will once again be able to explore destinations by themselves. For further details and the most up to date Health and Safety regulations MSC Cruises reminds guests to check the website and ticketing information prior to boarding.
