Operator already planning to expand Solo Traveller Collection with new dates and destinations
Newmarket Holidays has revealed a big rise in bookings following the launch of its Solo Traveller Collection, with one of its newly created exclusively-solos holidays debuting in the operator’s top 10 sellers for 2024 departures.
The escorted tours specialist has seen single bookings grow by more than 10% since the introduction of five exclusive solo tours and the removal of single supplements on 20 classic tours at the beginning of June.
The top performer is Snapshot of Western Sicily, an eight-day escorted tour of the island’s famous treasures and hidden gems that has been curated exclusively for solo travellers and is already one of the operator’s biggest selling holidays across all tour types, and the best-selling group holiday to Sicily.
Other solo tours outperforming expectations are Highlights of the Scottish Highlands and Kenyan Wildlife & Coastal Explorer, with Newmarket Holidays also planning to expand its Solo Traveller Collection to meet demand, with new dates and destinations on the horizon.
Verity Rice, Director of Product, Purchasing & Operations said: “Our Solo Traveller Collection has got off to a great start, with the growth in bookings driven by females who are attracted by the comfort of travelling in a like-minded group, but also want a local expert to take them beyond the usual guidebook destinations.”
Richard Forde, Head of Retail Sales added: “Agents have been asking about more options for solo travellers for a while and they really got on board with both our exclusively solos tours and the no-single-supplement places on our classic range of tours. We are looking forward to expanding this range later this year.”
From island hopping off the Dalmatian Coast, breathtaking landscapes in the Scottish Highlands and the epic wilderness of Kenya to the golden triangle of Delhi, Agra and Jaipur in India, Newmarket Holidays’ exclusively-solo tours are packed with captivating experiences for creating remarkable memories.
