Canning House partner with the LATA Foundation

UK based charity, Canning House, whose mission is to build relationships and understanding between the UK, Latin America, and Iberia, has chosen to partner with the LATA Foundation to donate emergency funds to communities most-in-need in Latin America during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The LATA Foundation, the charitable arm of LATA, support grassroots projects throughout Latin America. The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic is having a huge impact on the projects the Foundation supports and many have been forced to change their focus to be able to provide more emergency assistance on the ground to those most in need.

Pure Central America

This week Nicaragua and Belize joined the list of countries to receive the Travel Safe Stamp in the region, along with Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica and Panama; countries that have qualified as safe destinations to travel to under the new normal.

Honduras is also in the process of achieving this award, qualification that will allow the whole region to be recognized and promoted as destinations to be visited post-lockdown.

All countries in Central America are already open for international traveling, and the new standards and protocols are meeting the requirements of the WHOCDC and WTO.

Nicaragua has been awarded the WTTC Safe Travels stamp for effective travel biosecurity, as the country continues to have the least Covid-19 cases and deaths in Central America, whilst remaining open to visitors.

Further, INTUR has announced its plan for continued tourism recovery in 2021, including Central American and domestic travellers and reactivation of long-haul travel, with priorities including: strengthening human capital, ethical tourism, regional planning, communications, and public-private co-operation.
