Lizard Island
There is an abundance of magnificent islands in the Great Barrier Reef. One of the lesser-known gems that Scenic Eclipse will take you to in 2024 is Lizard Island. Located 240 kilometres north of Cairns, this is barefoot luxury that is truly unparalleled. On Lizard Island, you’ll discover 24 white sand beaches framed by tropical jungles, and a spectacular lagoon that demands your attention. Spend the day relaxing and rejuvenating, and then return to your ultra-luxury Discovery Yacht to enjoy an iconic Queensland sunset as your butler brings you a glass of Champagne.
Magnetic Island
Found just off the coast of Townsville, in the northern reaches of Queensland, is Magnetic Island. Here you will marvel at an untouched paradise with idyllic beaches, turquoise waters and a verdant green bushland that runs through the heart of this 52km2 picture-perfect land. With plenty of spectacular swimming beaches, there is an impressive array of on-water activities to enjoy. Choose to kayak along Magnetic Island’s coastline, finding your own secret cove for the day. Snorkel in crystal-clear waters filled with colourful fish. Then, when the inland calls, take a guided walk through the lush bushland, filled with scores of koala bears.
K’gari (formerly Fraser Island)
The largest sand island in the world, K’gari (Fraser Island) is one of the most expansive within the Great Barrier Reef region. An idyllic beach runs the length of this island, with bushland hiding a secret world of walking tracks and swimming holes. The most spectacular swim spot is Lake Mackenzie, with its pristine waters lapping at a white sandy shoreline all neatly framed with tropical bushland. On a Scenic Eclipse voyage, you can unlock K’gari (Fraser Island’s) unique wonders by either soaring above in one of two on board helicopters^, or delve below on Scenic Neptune, our custom-built submarine^. Whichever you choose, this is an island where lifelong memories will be created.

This is the only permanently inhabited island in the Coral Seas Islands Territory. Its inhabitants are found within the Australian Bureau of Meteorology, a weather monitoring station which was established in 1921. You will learn all about the importance of Willis Island in providing early cyclone warnings for Queensland, and what life is like living in a paradise miles from anywhere.
