Georgetown Market Reopens
The shuttered Georgetown Market has been given new life. Partners Stephen Starr (of Le Diplomate and St. Anselm’s) and Michelin-star chef Nancy Silverton opened the new 20,000-square foot Osteria Mozza restaurant and market at the close of 2024. The market has a pizza grill and bars dedicated to granita and juice, mozzarella, salumi and cocktails, as well as a produce and grocery area showcasing specialty olive oils, spices and Italian delicacies. Buzzard Point
Buzzard Point, located at the confluence of the Potomac and Anacostia rivers, is undergoing a significant transformation from its industrial past into a vibrant, mixed-use waterfront community. Union Market

National Zoo Giant Pandas Public Debut (24th January 2025)
Following the giant pandas’ much anticipated return to DC in October, and an acclamation period, the National Zoo prepares for the panda pair’s official debut on Jan. 24. National Ballet of China: Chinese New Year (29th January – 2nd February 2025)

Washington, DC is gearing up to host an unforgettable celebration of love, diversity, and unity at WorldPride 2025. Next year’s WorldPride event is of great historical significance, with 2025 marking the 50th anniversary of Capital Pride, first held in 1975. Go-Go Museum and Cafe (Opening February 2025)
Located in Anacostia, the 3,000 sq. foot museum will include digital and interactive exhibitions to guide visitors through go-go’s roots, pivotal moments, best songs, landmark music venues and community impact. National Museum of Asian Art: “The Print Generation” (present – 27 April 2025)
In the early decades of the twentieth century, a new generation of print artists broke from existing traditions in Japanese printmaking. Washington, DC Michelin Guide Update
Washington, DC solidified its status as a premier culinary destination as the Michelin Guide unveiled its latest honours in December 2024, showcasing the city’s exceptional talent, innovation, and commitment to sustainability. Two new restaurants, Mita and Omakase at Barracks Row, joined the prestigious ranks of Michelin-starred establishments this year, bringing DC’s total to 25 Michelin-starred restaurants. Among other notable accolades, Oyster Oyster earned a Michelin Green Star for its pioneering work in sustainable gastronomy.
Individual recognition highlighted DC’s culinary excellence; Carlos Delgado of Causa received the Michelin Young Chef Award; exceptional talent at Moon Rabbit, Albi, and Tail Up Goat earned awards for cocktails, sommelier, and service, respectively. In addition, Amparo Fondita and L’Ardente were awarded Bib Gourmand status, celebrating exceptional food at a great value, while Jônt and minibar retained their coveted two-star status.
DC is one of only seven U.S. destinations with its own Michelin Guide, a distinction that resonates with international visitors. The New York City staple opened its first DC location in Union Market in December.
