Japan Airlines places first Boeing 737 Max order
Japan Airlines has finalised its first ever Boeing 737 Max order.
It will buy 21 Max jets to refresh its narrow body fleet.
The deal is worth about $2.5 billion based on list prices.
According to JAL President Yuji Akasaka, the new short haul jets will be delivered starting in 2025.
“I believe this is a very high potential aircraft,” he said.
JAL’s narrow body fleet is predominantly made up of older Boeing 737-800s.
The new planes will fly its short haul regional and domestic network.
“We look forward to moving closer to our 2050 carbon-neutral goals,” Akasaka said
