TUI lifts face mask rule on England flights
TUI recently scrapped the requirement to wear face masks on most flights to and from England and Northern Ireland.
It follows Jet2 which was the first major airline to drop mandatory face coverings.
Like Jet2, TUI Airways still recommends wearing masks even though it is no longer legally required.
“In line with UK government and EU Charter guidance, we strongly recommend that you still wear a mask throughout your flight,”it said.
It came exactly two years since Covid was confirmed as a pandemic .
Face coverings are still required on flights to and from Wales and Scotland and for passengers travelling to the US and Italy.
“It’s important to note that you may still be required to wear a mask when leaving the aircraft and once inside the airport at your arrival destination, ”the company said.
Last week the US extended its federal mask mandate for another month to mid-April.
