From historic LGBTQ+ activism to world-class cultural events and epic nightlife, WorldPride 2025 is set to be one of the biggest Pride celebrations ever. This year’s theme is The Fabric of Freedom, reflecting unity and a global call to action to LGBTQ+ people and their allies. What to See & Do at WorldPride 2025

 

Opening Ceremony – 31 Mary 2025 – Nationals Park

 

WorldPride kicks off in epic style at Nationals Park with an opening ceremony featuring performances, speeches from LGBTQ+ activists and a headline performance by global superstar Shakira.

 

Cultural Exhibits & Pride Arts Programme – Multiple Dates and Various Venues

DC is rich in history, art and culture, and as part WorldPride, top institutions are curating LGBTQ+ themed exhibitions, performances and film screenings. Some must-visit exhibits and shows including a special exhibit at the National Gallery of Art featuring works by Keith Haring and David Hockney, live performances of all-queer productions at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and a Pride Film Festival, screening classic and contemporary queer cinema at various theatres, including the AFI Silver Theatre.

 

Human Rights Conference – 04 June 2025 – JW Marriot Pennsylvania Avenue

 

The Capital Pride Alliance (CPA) is partnering with leading organisations in the field of Human Rights for the International WorldPride Human Rights Conference. Through keynote speeches, panel discussions and hands-on workshops, attendees will explore topics such as inclusion, accessibility, mental health and the fight for equality worldwide. Featuring renowned speakers from around the globe, this event is not only educational but deeply inspiring, fostering meaningful conversations and sparking initiatives that drive change. WorldPride Parade – 7 June 2025 – Constitution Avenue

 

One of the biggest highlights of WorldPride 2025, is the WorldPride Parade.  Bringing together thousands of marchers, dozens of elaborate floats and a sea of rainbow-clad revellers to celebrate LGBTQ+ pride and diversity. With the U.S Capitol as a backdrop, over 300 LGBTQ+ organisations, businesses and advocacy groups will gather and create a joyous atmosphere filled with music, dancing and heartfelt speeches.

 

International March on Washington – 08 June – Location TBA

 

This historic march will bring thousands of LGBTQ+ individuals and allies together to advocate for equality, justice, and global LGBTQ+ rights. Inspired by the legacy of past civil rights movements, the International March on Washington will be a powerful display of solidarity and resilience. Participants will march through the heart of DC, culminating in a rally at the steps of the U.S. Capitol.
