National flag carrier, Vietnam Airlines has been voted as one of 20 best airlines in the world for 2023, according to aviation safety and product rating website Airline Ratings.
Judged by five editors with over 180 years’ industry experience, the annual AirlineRatings.com Airline Excellence Awards combine major safety and government audits, with 12 key criteria that include: fleet age, passenger reviews, profitability, investment rating, product offerings, and staff relations.
Vietnam Airlines boasts one of most modern fleets in Asia, including Boeing 787-9 and 787-10 Dreamliners, Airbus A350-900 XWBs and Airbus A321neos, with an average fleet age of seven years. The airline has been consistently expanding its network both domestically and internationally to meet increasing passenger demand. This will further help to facilitate trade, economic and cultural exchanges between countries.
In its quest for excellence, Vietnam Airlines continues to take great strides in further enhancing seamless customer experiences both on the ground and inflight. It is the first airline in Vietnam to introduce online check-in services across its entire domestic network, along with existing services including in-town check-in and kiosk check-in. Additionally, the airline’s Meet and Greet service offers exceptional benefits to passengers who need special assistance at the airport.
Passengers can enjoy innovative luxurious upgrades such as a wider selection of inflight meals, including authentic Vietnamese delicacies, as well as expanded inflight entertainment, with wireless streaming on Vietnam Airlines’ Airbus A321neos and new entertainment programmes on its Airbus A350 and Boeing 787 aircraft. Other product enhancements includes new blankets and linens in Business Class, making long haul journeys more relaxing for passengers.
The airline has just completed the Skyteam ‘Sustainable Flight Challenge’ – created to encourage global airlines to find innovative ways to make air travel greener – on flight VN37 from Hanoi to Frankfurt. On this special flight, Vietnam Airlines gave passengers bags made from recycled life vests, served sustainably sourced meals, and encouraged passengers to use their own personal items instead of single-use disposables provided onboard. Vietnam Airlines is determined to reinforce its commitment to sustainability goals, including net zero emissions by 2050.
In 2022, Vietnam Airlines achieved many accolades as the airline continued to deliver an outstanding flying experience for all its customers, including being named World’s Leading Cultural Airline, Asia’s Best Economy Class, and Asia’s Leading Airline Brand in the World Travel Awards 2022; and National Brand of 2022 by Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade.
Vietnam Airlines has spearheaded Vietnam’s aviation market – one of the fastest-growing domestic markets in the world – throughout 30 years of development at a double-digit annual growth rate. Positioning itself as a modern airline with an internationally recognizable brand, Vietnam Airlines aims to be designated as a five-star airline in the future.
