Members of trade association Airlines for America have voted to cut ties with dissenting voice Delta Air Lines with immediate effect.
The Board of Directors voted unanimously to waive the required six months’ notice and allow Delta to exit the trade group immediately to maintain a united front on policy.
Delta gave notice earlier this week its intention to leave A4A due to differences over key industry issues, including air traffic control reform.
"A4A is a consensus-based organization, and we are pleased to be moving forward speaking in a unified voice on specific issues including higher taxes, unnecessary regulations and the need for infrastructure improvement," said Brad Tilden, CEO of Alaska Airlines and vice chairman of the A4A board.
"We will continue to execute against our strategic plan and advocate for our members and the people and cargo they fly every day, with the full support of the board of directors," added Nicholas E. Calio, CEO of A4A.
